Red Carpet Inspiration: 2013 Academy Awards

The Academy Awards are without a doubt the biggest night of the year in Hollywood, meaning the stars don the best of the best that fashion has to offer. From Prada tuxedos to Dior Haute Couture Gowns, last night's Oscar awards could quite possibly be the most glamorous we've seen. --Angel

Jennifer Lawrence was a clear winner in a stunning Dior Haute Couture stapless gown and Chopard jewels.

 

Zoe Saldana brought the va-va-voom to the party in a belted, black and white Alexis Mabille gown.

 

Joseph Gordon-Levitt made a perfectly polished and neatly coiffed appearance on the red carpet.

 

From head (that hair!) to toe, Charlize Theron was picture perfect in white Dior Couture and Harry Winston jewelry.

 

Despite a little scruffiness, Chris Pine was still as handsome as ever in an Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo.

 

Django Unchained actress Kerry Washington chose a peachy-pink design by Miu Miu.

 

Adele was the picture of glamour in a glittering design by Jenny Packham.

 

Amanda Seyfried's Alexander McQueen design was right on trend with the evening's many lighter hues.

 

We loved the playful bubble gum pink color and ladylike silhouette of Maria Menounos' Romona Keveza mermaid gown.

 

Daniel Radcliffe made a dapper red carpet appearance in Prada.

 

Jessica Chastain dazzled in a sparkling, curve-hugging gown from Giorgio Armani.

Red Carpet Inspiration: 2013 Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards are to the music industry what the Oscars are to film, so when stars like Alicia Keys and Katy Perry hit the red carpet, they wear nothing but the biggest names in fashion. Here are the looks we loved most from Sunday night's ceremony. --Angel

Adele was pretty in pink flowers by Valentino. The songbird opted for pink lips and nails as well.

 

Alicia Keys hit a high note in this edgy, curve-hugging gown by Azzedine Alaia, which she accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels (check out that ring!!) and bold red lips.

 

Also in Azzedine Alaia, "Diamonds" singer Rihanna in an eye-catching red which matched her nails and lips.

 

Three-time nominee Taylor Swift chose a white and silver J. Mendel column dress with cutouts for the red carpet. Milkmaid braids and a DIY manicure completed her look.

 

A raven-haired Katy Perry hit the red carpet in an embellished mint green number by Gucci. The star said her look was inspired by Priscilla Presley.

 

Carrie Underwood got rave reviews for her ultra glamorous black and silver Roberto Cavalli dress, which fit the country crooner like a glove.

 

Always a trend-setter, Janelle Monae showed off her feminine curves in a menswear-inspired three piece suit which she accented with a bright red lip.

 

Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild made a bold choice with a strapless black and grey leopard print gown.

 

Singer Kelly Rowland presented in a fitted Georges Chakra gown with revealing cutouts.

 

Solange Knowles nailed it in Pantone's Color of the Year: a sequined emerald green gown with sweet cap sleeves. 

Love the Look: Minka Kelly

The Red Dress Collection Fashion Show is an annual event at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week that promotes heart health awareness. While the all-star runway featured a ton of celebs, from Olympian Gabby Douglas to actress Jamie Chung, we couldn't help but notice how flawless actress Minka Kelly looked in her cherry red Oscar de la Renta gown. The dress, a perfect choice for her because it was flowy but didn't overwhelm her frame, was accented with a metallic belt and shoes, and teardrop earrings. But perhaps what we love most is that her hair and makeup don't look overdone or fussy, just soft, natural, and pretty.

We told you we couldn't narrow down our favorite looks from the 2013 Golden Globes; we tried, promise, but there were just so many amazing looks to choose from. Here are ten more of the looks we loved most from last night's ceremony. --Angel

Adele looked absolutely flawless in a black Burberry gown with a dazzling jeweled neckline. As always, her makeup was perfect with her signature cat eye and false lashes.

 

Django Unchained actress Kerry Washington hit the red carpet in a stunning sheer Miu Miu dress with beaded detailing. A vintage Movado was the finishing touch.

 

Nicole Richie choose a demure, long-sleeved gown with shimmery lavender appliques by Naeem Khan, accessorizing her look with her own House of Harlow box clutch.

 

Glee's Lea Michele showed off her tan in an ivory Elie Saab halter gown with tons of sequins and glittery jewels from Lorraine Schwartz.

 

Megan Fox also rocked the silhouette of the night: mermaid gown. Her's was a pale, lacy number from Dolce & Gabbana.

 

Jennifer Lawrence may have had the flu, but the Silver Linings Playbook star looked fresh-faced and absolutely gorgeous in a belted, tomato red Dior Haute Couture Ball Gown.

 

Girls star Lena Dunham wowed in an off-the-shoulder Zac Posen gown in a gorgeous aubergine color. She completed her look with Fred Leighton jewels.

 

And Lena's co-star Allison Williams looked beautiful with slicked back hair to show off the plunging neckline and sequin detailing of her black J. Mendel gown.

 

Zosia Mamet, a third Girls co-star, was chic and sophisticated in a black Tony Ward gown. We loved the leather detail!

 

Modern Family's Sarah Hyland also chose black: a dramatic Max Azria Atelier number with a pleated bodice and jewel-encrusted belt.

Red Carpet Inspiration: 2013 Golden Globe Awards pt. 1

It was as if every major film and television starlet was determined to be at the top of all the best dressed lists because at last night's 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills every one of them looked more amazing, more glamorous, and more stunning than ever. It was seriously hard to narrow down favorites (like, really hard), but here are ten of our favorites. --Angel

Julianne Hough had the winning look in an ultra-feminine, white and gold ball gown designed by FIDM Grad Monique Lhuillier. We love how her edgy faux-hawk hair balanced the glamorous gown.

 

Homeland actress Claire Danes braved the cold in a bright Versace halter gown. A smoldering, smoky eye completed her look.

 

Halle Berry of Cloud Atlas also chose Versace for the big night: a printed, one-shoulder number in varying shades of pink with a daring slit.

 

New Girl star Zooey Deschanel matched her lips to her candy red Oscar de la Renta ball gown. She complemented the look with classic pearls.

 

Jessica Alba was the picture of Hollywood glamour in a curve-hugging, coral Oscar de la Renta mermaid gown, glitzy Harry Winston jewels and Veronica Lake waves.

 

Songbird Taylor Swift was striking in a deep plum mermaid gown from Donna Karen Atelier. She finished her look with a sideswept updo.

 

Jennifer Garner dazzled in color-of-the-moment oxblood by Vivenne Westwood Couture and gold David Webb jewelry.

 

Nashville actress Hayden Panettiere looked sweet in a ballet pink mermaid gown from Roberto Cavalli, which she contrasted with a bright fuchsia Kotur clutch.

 

Smash star Katharine McPhee was smoking hot in a black Theyskens' Theory gown with a plunging neckline and thigh slit.

 

A statuesque Stacy Keibler worked the red carpet in a black column gown by Armani Prive and sleek, shiny strands.

Red Carpet Inspiration: 2013 People's Choice Awards

From Jen Aniston's saucy leather frock to host Kaley Cuoco's sweet pink design, the fashion at last night's People's Choice Awards certainly did not disappoint. --Angel

Host Kaley Cuoco walked the red carpet in a frothy, barely pink number designed by Christian Siriano. Rose gold accessories completed her look, one of our favorites of the evening.

 

Jennifer Aniston, winner of the Favorite Comedic Actress award, was also a winner in the style department, donning leather by Christian Dior. Hot!

 

Singer Taylor Swift picked up her Favorite Country Artist award in this chic floor-length sheath from Ralph Lauren. We're also digging her hair and makeup.

 

Glee's Lea Michele chose a hot pink Elie Saab mini dress which she accessorized with matching Jimmy Choos.

 

Chloe Moretz's neon yellow daisies from Simone Rochas had us yearning for the warm summer days ahead.

 

Rock of Ages actress Julianne Hough shone like the night's sky in a glittering Tony Ward couture dress.

 

Pretty Little Liars' Shay Mitchell rocked a printed coral dress from Giorgio Armani. The color looked amazing on her, right?

 

Silver Linings Playbook star Jennifer Lawrence channeled everything that was glamorous about the '70s in shimmering velvet by Valentino.

 

Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries smoldered in a classic black suit.

 

We love Les Miserables actor Eddie Redmayne's pick here: a plaid suit with a contrasting navy vest and red pocket square.

Love the Look: Anne Hathaway

Actress Anne Hathaway may have been honoring her Les Miserables co-star Hugh Jackman at the Museum of the Moving Image, but we can't help but note how party-ready she is in this dazzling Nina Ricci number. For starters, the colors are exquisite on her milky skin--dark (but not black or colorful, more like pewter) sequins on a nude dress. And that silhouette is just as flattering, with its slight blouson top and straight skirt. Really, the dress couldn't be more perfect for a glamorous holiday party, right? We also love how Anne styled the look here. No necklace or glitzy jewelry to compete with the dress (a smart move on her part), just a metallic clutch and shiny satin sandals to carry on the shimmery theme. Her unfussy hair and makeup complete the look, and again, she didn't do anything too dramatic to take away from the frock. Instead, her pink lips and sideswept bangs totally complement the look. This is definitely one of our favorite looks for Anne.

Love the Look: Berenice Marlohe

Oh, how we love this time of year! All those fabulous holiday parties calling for dazzling dresses and sparkling accessories--is there anything better? That's probably why we were instantly taken with Skyfall actress Bérénice Marlohe's look at the film's Tokyo premiere. It was the epitome of dazzling, with, not just sparkling beads, but also feathers--fun, flirty, fabulous feathers. And perhaps what's best about all those fluffy feathers is that there aren't so many of them that the rest of her look got overshadowed. In fact, it took us no time at all to notice her jeweled pumps, also quite dazzling, and the aubergine manicure that matched the spray of purple plumes behind the black ones. Finally, the gorgeous French actress nailed that heavily-lined smokey eye and nude lip combo that so many French woman seem to have mastered.

Love the Look: Ashley Greene

'Vampire' and 'sweet' are not two words that typically appear together in a sentence, yet here they are, in black and white: Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Pt. 2 star Ashley Greene, who plays vampire Alice Cullen, looked lovely and sweet at the film's premiere. The custom Donna Karan Atelier gown, with its pale pink color, interlocking panels of chiffon on the bodice, and floaty skirt, reminded us of light, airy spun sugar. Even her makeup looked light and airy; she skipped the ubiquitous smokey eyes or light reflecting metallics and went for a fresh, clean face with a soft, pink lip (to match the soft, pink gown, no doubt) and loads of dark, babydoll-like lashes.
