The 83rd Annual Academy Awards took place last night and while we were certainly thrilled about our favorite films receiving nods, we couldn't take our eyes off the red carpet fashion. Get inspired for Prom 2011 with our picks for best-dressed. --Angel

Tangled actress Mandy Moore looked like a fairy tale princess in a shimmery gown from FIDM Alumnna Monique Lhuillier.

 

Presenter Jennifer Hudson looked incredible in this tangerine orange halter gown by Atelier Versace.

 

Black Swan actress Mila Kunis was a winner in this romantic, lacy Elie Saab number. The pale lavendar color is gorgeous on her!

 

Michelle Williams chose a sophisticated dress by Chanel.

 

Scarlett Johansson was beautiful in berry Dolce & Gabbana.

 

The always-stunning Halle Berry was radiant in Marchesa.

 

Hilary Swank chose a crystal-encrusted Gucci Premiere couture gown, embellished with dyed ostrich feathers.

 

Natalie Portman was pretty in plum, showing off her baby bump in Rodarte.

 

Hot couple Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey were picture perfect in pitch black--she in a gown by Kaufmanfranco and he in Dolce & Gabbana.

 

Penelope Cruz looked lovely in a curve-hugging gown by L'Wren Scott.

 

Jennifer Lawrence was red-hot in a simple-yet-stunning Calvin Klein dress.

 

Reese Witherspoon chose classic black and white by Armani.

 

Newcomer Hailee Steinfeld looked adorable in a frothy, tea-length dress by Marchesa.

 

A very dapper Justin Timberlake presented in custom Tom Ford.

 

The evening's co-host Anne Hathaway hit the red carpet in scarlet-hued vintage Valentino...

 

Then commenced to hosting duties in this fringed number by Oscar de la Renta.

NY Fashion Week: Christian Siriano Fall 2011

When it comes to extravagance combined with elegance, Christian Siriano seems to be the master. His Fall 2011 collection included lots of luxurious sportswear pieces, but it was the glamorous dresses and gowns that we loved best. --Angel

 
 

And the Bride Wore...Urban Outfitters

When you think of trendy fashion outpost Urban Outfitters the words "hip," "cool," "fun," and maybe even "off kilter" may come to mind; "bridal" almost never does. But Urban Outfitters, Inc. (owner of UO and its more sophisticated sister, Anthropologie) wants to change that.

BHLDN, Urban Outfitters, Inc. newest venture, is exclusively for the nuptially-minded. The collection, which launches via an e-commerce site this Valentine's Day, will feature accessories, jewelry, shoes, and of course, gowns. But don't expect the feminine glamour of a Vera Wang creation, or the sophisticated elegance Reem Acra is known for--these gowns are purely UO (think vintage inspirations, bohemian aesthetics, and unexpected colors).

Urban Outfitters, Inc. isn't just peddling wedding and special occasion dresses--they want to help brides with the entire wedding experience. In May, BHLDN will introduce cake pedestals, tabletop, place cards, and decorations on the site, and letter-pressed and engraved invitations will be available next year. Plus, brides can email a team of stylists for advice. The first freestanding BHLDN store will open this August, with more to follow within the year.
